Core Industries Growth Rises to 5.4% in November 2022

India’s output of eight core industries
registered a 5.4% growth in November 2022 as compared to the Index of November
2021, which was 3.2% and as against 0.9% for the month of October 2022. While
the y-o-y growth number is healthier, the m-o-m trends continue to remain mixed
across various sectors. Amongst various sectors, coal and cement witnessed
robust sequential momentum, however, other sectors, viz, crude oil, natural
gas, petro refinery products, steel and electricity exhibited subdued
sequential momentum, contraction over the previous month.
